Ariel Attack in SindhupaLchowk District
A civilian Bam Bahadur Khatri, 63, resident of Thokrpa VDC-4, Sindhupalchowk district, and 2 Maoist cadres were killed on March 27, 2006 when security forces lunched an indiscriminate Ariel attack by Royal Nepalese Army helicopters on the different parts of Thokarpa VDC in order to disturb the Maoists' program. The raid of the security forces began at about 12:45 P.M. just before the programme, targeting the programme at hostel af Bhaghairab Higher Secondary School when there had been already around 4-5 hundreds of Maoists and many civilians however it was reported that the large number of Maoists were in the surrounding areas and villagers were in the process of gathering. The Maoists had invited people from Sindhupalchowk, Dolkha and Kavre districts and the central level leaders of the Maoists were scheduled to attend the program.
The Security forces bombarded recklessly when Maoists tried to fee away. There are many holes of the bullets on the roofs and walls of the school. Ayurvedic Medicine building and around a dozen civilians home. The attack damaged walls, computers, furniture and books of the library and windows of the school. In the attack, 3 cattle also died and a buffalo and an ox were severely injured...
